abstract A medical device and methods for making and delivery or implantation of prostheses within hollow body organs and vessels or other luminal anatomy include a self-expanding stent (10) including an expanded shape and a compressed shape wherein a plurality of strut (14) define a plurality of teardrop-shaped openings (16) along substantially a whole length of struts. The subject technologies may be used in the treatment of atherosclersosis in stenting procedures.
