[PROBLEMS] To provide a process for synthesizing natural compound derivatives useful in random high-throughput screening (HTS), the search for drugs or agricultural chemicals, the search for lead compounds of drugs or agricultural chemicals, and so on; a method for making a compound library containing natural compound derivatives; a compound library containing natural compound derivatives; and a method of screening with the compound library. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] Organic compound derivatives are synthesized by culturing a microorganism capable of producing an organic compound in a prescribed culture medium, and reacting the organic compound obtained by the culture with a reagent capable of synthesizing a derivative of the organic compound in the culture medium. A library containing the derivatives thus obtained enables random HTS, the search for drugs or agricultural chemicals, the search for lead compounds of drugs or agricultural chemicals, and so on. |
