titleOfInvention Phosphoric ester of cellulose derivative and metal adsorbent comprising the same
abstract A 2,3-dihydroxypropyl cellulose or 3-(2,3-dihydroxypropoxy)-2-hydroxypropyl cellulose phosphoric ester part of which may have undergone carbamidation; a metal-absorbing material comprising the phosphoric ester; and a metal-absorbing apparatus employing the metal-absorbing material. The phosphoric ester of a cellulose derivative is a metal adsorbent which has a high metal-adsorbing ability and a high metal adsorption rate per unit weight. It has an excellent mechanical strength and is highly effective in softening water or the like. It significantly efficiently removes heavy metals from wastewater, etc. It has excellent processability and can be formed into various shapes. It is applicable in a wide range and easily reutilizable.
