abstract |
Disclosed is a novel compound which is able to improve solubility of various lubricating oil additives when used as a base oil component in a lubricating oil composition. In addition, the compound realizes low viscosity/low volatility characteristics which have not been achieved in PAO compositions to which conventional additives are added. Also disclosed is a method for producing such a novel compound. Specifically disclosed is 2-alkyl-4,4-dialkyl-1,3-dioxolane having a structure represented by the general formula (I) below. In the formula, R1-R4 independently represent an alkyl group having 1-30 carbon atoms. |
