The invention relates to a firestop material which is made from a polymer foam, such as a polyurethane foam, containing flame-retardant means. The inventive firestop material is characterised in that (i) the flame-retardant means comprise means which are designed to form a charred layer on the surface of the foam under the effect of an increase in the temperature of the material resulting from a fire and (ii) said flame-retardant means are supplemented with at least one inorganic-type flame retardant. The invention also relates to a chemical composition which, after expansion and drying, is intended to form one such firestop material, as well as to the use of one such firestop material. |
