abstract This invention provides a highly water permeable hollow fiber membrane-type blood purifier in which a hydrophilic polymer-containing hydrophobic polymer hollow fiber membrane having a hydrophilic polymer content on the outer surface of the hollow fiber membrane of 25 to 50% by mass, an open area ratio of the outer surface of 8 to 25%, a thickness deviation ratio of not less than 0.6, a membrane thickness of 10 to 60 µm, and a burst pressure of 0.5 to 2 MPa is housed. The blood purifier has a water permeability of 150 to 2000 ml/m2/hr/mmHg and has been exposed to a radiation in such a state that the concentration of oxygen in the atmosphere around the hollow fiber membrane is not less than 0.001% and not more than 0.1%, and the water content is not less than 0.2% by mass and not more than 7% by mass based on the self-weight of the hollow fiber membrane.
