Animal model of neurodegenerative diseases, method of obtaining same and uses thereof |
abstract |
The invention relates to a non-human animal which can be used as an experimental neurodegenerative disease model. The inventive animal model has an alteration in the biological activity of the receptor of trophic factor IGF-I in the cells of the epithelium of the choroid plexus of the cerebral ventricles. The animal model can be obtained using a transgenesis process. Said animal model can be used to study the etiopathogenic mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases, including those associated with dementia, such as Alzheimer's disease, or to identify and assess therapeutic compounds intended to combat said diseases. |
