abstract |
The invention is directed to UDP-N-Acetyl-D-galactosamine: polypeptide NAcetylgalactosaminyltransferase 6 (ppGalNAc-T6) mRNA or peptide as a new marker for method for diagnosing or prognosticating cancer in a subject, particularly for measuring the aggressiveness of cancer in a subject or for determining the presence of disseminated cancer cells in a subject with cancer. The invention further comprises specific anti-human ppGalNAc-T6 polyclonal or monoclonal antibodies, hybridoma cells capable of secreting such monoclonal antibodies and kits comprising such antibodies. The present invention also pertains to a method for the selection of anticancer compounds capable of inhibiting the ppGalNAc-T6 mRNA or peptide in cell. |
