abstract The invention relates to a blood collection system (1) for collecting blood for diagnostic purposes. Said system comprises an electric motor (9), which provides energy for propelling a lancet. According to the invention, the blood collection system also comprises a mechanical energy accumulator (20), in which the electric energy that is converted by the motor is stored in the form of mechanical energy. The use of a mechanical energy accumulator permits the use of known mechanical propulsion elements. The blood collection system can be electrically activated and is thus easy to use for the operator.
