Bioactive chemokine heteromultimers |
abstract |
Chemokine heteromultimers including differing homologous or analogous chemokine monomers are disclosed. The association of differing chemokine monomers to form heteromultimers, particularly heterodimers, is demonstrated by NMR analysis and molecular modeling. Chemokine heteromultimers can be further stabilized by covalently linking them using peptide linker strands. Chemokine heteromultimers can be used to affect chemokine-receptor bearing cells, and for the treatment of disorders that are responsive to chemokines. Formation of heteromultimers is demonstrated to enhance various biological activities of the chemokines. |
