A method for removing fluorine from a liquid containing a zinc-containing material dissolved therein before electrolysis of zinc at low cost. In this method, fluorine is removed from a liquid containing a zinc-containing material dissolved therein (an original liquid) by taking advantage of a property that a predetermined iron compound or zinc compound absorbs fluorine in an acidic region and desorbs fluorine in an alkaline region. A fluorine absorption/desorption agent on which fluorine has been adsorbed can be treated with an alkaline solution to desorb fluorine, thereby regenerating the fluorine absorption/desorption agent. Further, an electrolysis solution for zinc refining can be produced at low cost, and, thus, the total cost of zinc refining can be reduced. |
