Using an exothermic composition that excels in shape retention and is capable of heat generation without dehydration or otherwise water removal and water absorption by base material after molding, there is provided a heating element for foot warming that excels in shape retention and is capable of heat generation for a long time. There is provided a process characterized in that an exothermic composition molding consisting of an exothermic composition comprising an exothermic substance, a carbon component, a reaction accelerator and water as indispensable components and exhibiting a mobile water value, indicating the amount of excess water, of 0.01 to 20, wherein the water does not function as a barrier layer and wherein an exothermic reaction is induced by contact with air, is superimposed on a base material; the exothermic composition molding is covered with a covering material; and the periphery of the exothermic composition molding is sealed, so that the exothermic composition molding exhibits a shape retention degree of ≥ 70 and that at least part of the base material or covering material has air permeability. |
