abstract The present invention relates to a method (1) for reducing phase noise during reception of a signal r by a receiver. The method comprises estimating a value for signal r phase shift caused by phase noise, and refining the estimate using an iterative algorithm. For every iteration, the method (1) estimates (2) a value for the phase shift caused by phase noise, and corrects (3) the signal by causing rotation in the opposite direction to the rotation caused by the estimated phase shift caused by the phase noise.
