abstract The invention relates to a dispersion, in a non-aqueous organic medium, of solid particles consisting of at least one ethylene polymer comprising a skeleton which is insoluble in said medium, and a part which is soluble in said medium, consisting of side chains which are covalently linked to said skeleton, wherein the ethylene polymer can be obtained by radical polymerization of at least one optical effect monomer in order to form the insoluble skeleton and at least one macromonomer comprising a polymerizable terminal group in order to form the side chains. The invention also relates to cosmetic or pharmaceutical compositions comprising said dispersion in a cosmetically or pharmaceutically acceptable medium. The invention further relates to a cosmetic treatment method for the care, cleaning and/or making up of keratin substances such as the skin of the face or body, the scalp, eyelashes, eyebrows, hair, lips and nails, comprising the application of said cosmetic composition to said keratin substances.
