It is possible to control modification of the display method of subtitle data. Step S347 judges whether modification of the display of the subtitle data being reproduced is permitted according to configurable_flag indicating whether to permit modification of display of subtitle data contained in the subtitle data StaticInfo() from the default display method, among the StaticInfo() describing the information not changed during data reproduction for each data multiplexed in the program stream contained in the meta data concerning the program stream. When the modification of the display of the subtitle data being reproduced from the default display method is permitted, step S350 performs display of the subtitle data according to the instruction of the modification of the display method of the subtitle data. The present invention can be applied, for example, to a game device using a DVD. |
