abstract |
A technology exhibiting a high efficiency of depollution of nitrogen oxides contained in exhaust gas from a stoichiometric combustion gasoline engine and capable of depollution of nitrogen oxides contained in an oxygen excess exhaust gas such as exhaust gas from a diesel engine. In particular, LnAlO3 (Ln: rare earth element) carrying Pd oxide is employed as a catalyst material incorporated in catalyst converter (103). Hydrogen supply unit (102) is disposed upstream of the catalyst converter (103), and hydrogen is fed into the exhaust gas from the hydrogen supply unit. LnAlO3 carrying Pd oxide exhibits high reactivity with nitrogen oxides even in the presence of oxygen to thereby enable obtaining a high depollution ratio. Therefore, it can be utilized as not only a purification catalyst for exhaust gas from a stoichiometric combustion gasoline engine but also a purification catalyst for exhaust gas from a diesel engine. |
