titleOfInvention Therapeutic agent for diabetes
abstract An insulin secreting function restoration agent comprising as an active ingredient at least one member selected from the group consisting of aspartic acid, cysteine, serine, asparagines, isoleucine, histidine, hydroxyproline, glutamic acid, valine and salts thereof. Further, there is provided a health promoting food comprising the insulin secreting function restoration agent. Still further, there is provided a therapeutic composition for diabetes comprising as active ingredients any of the above amino acids and a second antidiabetic agent. This insulin secreting function restoration agent can be used as, for example, a health promoting food or peroral therapeutic agent effective for the treatment, improvement and prevention of insulin hyposecretion as a side effect of medicine administration as well as type II diabetes, borderline diabetes and other diseases.
