The methods may include fibrinolytic therapy. The treatment methods may be used to prevent one or more of, mortality, myocardial re-infarction, myocardial ischemia, stroke, or severe congestive heart failure. Articles of manufacture for use in connection with treating ST segment elevation myocardial infarction in a human patient 75 years of age or older are also disclosed. The articles of manufacture comprise enoxaparin sodium, and instructions designed to achieve administration to a patient of a dose of less than 1 mg per kg body weight, about .75 mg per kg of body weight, or .75 mg per kg of body weight of enoxaparin sodium, by subcutaneous injection approximately every twelve hours for a therapeutic dosing period. |
