abstract The present finish uses a durable elastic urethane polymer as the primary component blended with a smaller amount of low elongation urethane polymer to provide the desired hand for the finished fabric. This combination, in which the high elongation polymer basically surrounds the low elongation polymer, provides an economical way to prevent mark-off in the coated fabric. To meet flammability requirements, flame retardant chemistry is preferably applied to the fabric during dyeing, causing the flame retardant to be incorporated durably into the fiber. A process for applying this finish to create a flame retardant coated fabric is also described.
