abstract An injector device (10) comprising a body (18) containing a syringe (16) with a needle (50) and plunger (46), a drive spring (56) coupled with the syringe (16) and operable, when released, to drive the syringe (16) forward to inject the needle and subsequently to dispense a dosage from the syringe (16), a housing (20) containing the body (18) and drive spring (56) and a release apparatus coupled with the housing (20) The drive spring (56) is initially locked in an unreleased position, and the body (18) is slidable with respect to the housing (20) and configured for sliding upward in the housing (20) when the injector device (60) is pressed down at an injection site to engage the release apparatus and release the drive spring (56) sfor delivering a dosage.
