abstract | A water-base active energy radiation hardenable ink composition that contains a highly reactive water-soluble polymeric substance and a water-soluble polymerization initiator of high initiation efficiency so as to excel in hardening capability. Further, there are provided, utilizing the ink composition, a method of inkjet recording, ink cartridge, recording unit and inkjet recording apparatus. In particular, there is provided an active energy radiation hardenable water base ink composition comprising at least water, a polymerizable substance capable of radical polymerization by active energy radiation and a polymerization initiator capable of radical formation by active energy radiation, characterized in that the polymerizable substance is a water-soluble compound having 2 to 6 (meth)acryl groups while the polymerization initiator is a water-soluble acylphosphine oxide compound. Furthermore, there are provided, utilizing the ink composition, a method of inkjet recording, ink cartridge, recording unit and inkjet recording apparatus. |
