abstract This invention relates to novel double salt of (-)-hydroxycitric acid with an amine and zinc or a group II A metal. These compounds are stable and water soluble and are used as nutraceuticals, weight reducing agents and in beverages. The double salts have the following general formula (I) Wherein X is zinc or a metal belonging to group II A of the Periodic Table and Y is glucosamine, caffeine or a known anorexic amine residue.
