abstract | The present invention is directed to polynucleotide and polypeptide sequences of novel acylglycerol acyltransferase-like proteins DC4. The invention also provides the human, mouse and rat DC4 and rat and mouse DC4L associated with the cardiovascular diseases, dermatological diseases, metabolic diseases, muscle-skeleton disorders, cancer, inflammation, urological diseases, neurological diseases and hematological diseases. The invention also provides assays for the identification of compounds useful for the modulation of cardiovascular diseases, dermatological diseases, metabolic diseases, muscle-skeleton disorders, cancer, inflammation, urological diseases, neurological diseases and hematological diseases for treating of cardiovascular diseases, dermatological diseases, metabolic diseases, muscle-skeleton disorders, cancer, inflammation, urological diseases, neurological diseases and hematological diseases associated with expression of the DC4. The invention also features compounds which bind to and/or activate or inhibit the activity of DC4 as well as pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds. |
