titleOfInvention | Method for friedel-crafts acylation in ionic liquids |
abstract | The invention relates to an aromatic ketone preparation method involving a Friedel-Crafts acylation reaction in an ionic liquid having formula (I), in the absence of any other catalyst and/or solvent. In formula (I), [Q]+ is selected from among substituted imidazolium cations, substituted pyridinium cations, ammonium cations and phosphonium cations. The invention can be used to perform Friedel-Crafts acylations with good yields and high selectivity at the para-position of the Friedel-Crafts aromatic substrate without the use of chlorinated solvents or standard Friedel-Crafts catalysts. The inventive method is suitable for industrial use since it employs green chemistry technology in order to perform general-application Friedel-Crafts acylations. [Q]+ [CF3SO3]- (I) |
