abstract The invention derives from the finding that the interaction between Hsp90 and p50cdc37 is mediated through the N-terminal domain of Hsp90, rather than the C-terminal domain as was previously thought. A crystal structure of a complex between the N-terminal domain of Hsp90 and the C-terminal domain of p50cdc37 is provided. The structure may be used for homology modelling and structure solution, as well as for identifying compounds which modulate the interaction between Hsp90 and p50cdc37.
