Tirofiban for inhalative administration for the treatment of diseases that are caused by thrombosis |
abstract |
The invention relates to the use of the fibrinogen-IIb/IIIa receptor antagonist tirofiban or one of its derivatives for the prophylaxis and intensive treatment of diseases caused or partly caused by thrombosis. To this end, tirofiban or one of its derivatives is provided in the form of an aerosol that is suitable for inhalative application by means of aerosol generators. After the intrathoracic deposition of the aerosol particles that carry the medicaments, the tirofiban or one of its derivatives passes rapidly into the bloodstream, forming a medicament level that has a prophylactic or therapeutic action. |
