titleOfInvention Content distribution system, content server, content receiving apparatus, content distribution method, program and recording medium
abstract In a network system for adding, to each of contents, one or more additional information in accordance with the internal attributes of the content and for transmitting/receiving such contents, the content server can decide data to be transmitted, independently of what division transfer a content receiving apparatus envisages. There are included a content server (1) and a content receiving apparatus (2). The content server (1) has storage means (101) for holding one or more contents; content data acquisition means for receiving data request including content request range information, which takes no additional information into account, to derive, from the storage means (101), data of the contents in the requested range; and transmitting means for adding additional information to the derived content data and then transmitting them. The content receiving apparatus (2) has receiving means for receiving the data and additional information of the contents transmitted from the transmitting means; received data deciding means for deciding a content reception request range taking no additional information into account; and data request transmitting means for transmitting a data request including request range information.
