abstract |
Disclosed are compositions cycloxygenase-1 (COX-1) and prostacyclin synthase (PGIS) genes in series. The genes can be separated or linked by an internal ribosome entry site (IRES). The compositions can provide a plurality (or mixture) of nucleic acids, where each nucleic acid encodes two transgenes in series. The ratio of the amount of the nucleic acids can be selected to maximize the therapeutic effectiveness of the composition in mammalian cells, such as human cells. Also disclosed is a method of using a composition, the method comprising delivering a composition in vivo. The compositions can be delivered too treat primary pulmonary hypertension, secondary pulmonary hypertension, vascular disease, or a disease of inflammation. |
