abstract An ABS resin obtained by reacting a conjugated diene polymer having, bonded thereto, a siloxane or silsesquioxane compound having an Si-H bond with a vinyl cyanide compound and one or more vinyl compounds comprising an aromatic vinyl compound. This ABS resin is a flame-retardant thermoplastic resin having a low combustion rate and highly inhibited from dripping in combustion. Upon combustion, it generates no harmful substances adversely influencing the environment or human body. The resin can hence be used alone or as a resin composition obtained by mixing with other resin(s) and is usable in a wide range of fields.
