abstract | The invention relates to a method of producing pellets of a nuclear fuel based on mixed oxide (U,Pu)O2 or (U,Th)O2. The inventive method comprises the following steps consisting in: a) preparing a primary mixture of powders, comprising the combined grinding of a powder P1 of UO2 and a powder P2 of PuO2 or ThO2; b) screening the aforementioned mixture; c) preparing a final mixture of powders by diluting the undersize with a powder P3 of UO2; d) pelletising the final mixture; and e) sintering the pellets. The inventive method incorporates at least one compound which is chosen from the oxides of Cr, Al, Ti, Mg, Va and Nb, the precursors thereof and the inorganic compounds which can provide the sulphur element during step (e) to at least one of the powders, P1, P2 and P3, and/or at least one of the primary or final powder mixtures. |
