abstract An intraocular lens injector is disclosed. The injector comprises an elongate barrel (2) having a longitudinal axis, a plunger (3) insertable into the barrel (2) and slideable relative thereto in an axial direction from a first position to an intermediate position in response to the application of an axially directed load towards a lens (10) located in a lens holder (5) at one end of the barrel (2), and an actuator (9) rotatably mounted in the barrel (2) which is engaged by the plunger (3) in said intermediate position so that further movement of the plunger (3) relative to the barrel (2) in said axial direction is achieved in response to rotation of the actuator (9), to push a lens (10) disposed in said lens holder (5) into the eye.
