abstract |
A PDT apparatus for treating only a diseased part deep from the capsule while conserving the capsule of the nondiseased shallow part. The photodynamic therapy apparatus (1) is used to treat a diseased part by using a photosensitive substance activated by light having a peak intensity in a predetermined range and hardly activated by light having a peak intensity out of the predetermined range. The photodynamic therapy apparatus (1) comprises applying means (13) for applying a light pulse having a wavelength which activates the photosensitive substance to an organism and control means (22) for controlling the peak intensity of the applied light pulse. The control means (22) allows the applying means (13) to apply a light pulse having a high peak intensity so that the light reaching the diseased part (41) in a deep portion of the organism may have a peak intensity in the predetermined range. |
