It is intended to provide a compound useful as an antimalarial agent. By culturing a microorganism belonging to the genus Streptomyces sp., a triamide derivative serving as an active ingredient is collected from the culture medium. This triamide derivative or its salt has a favorable antimalarial activity while showing only a weak cytotoxicity on cultured mammalian cells and little activity on bacteria and fungi including pathogens. Therefore, this compound is useful in preventing or treating malaria as a selective and highly safe antimalarial agent. |
