abstract |
It is intended to provide a nonhuman animal which is usable as an animal model well presenting the pathogenic conditions of low turnover osteoporosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in screening a remedy for osteoporosis or a remedy for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, etc.. Namely, a nonhuman animal characterized by lacking a gene encoding CD9 and a gene encoding CD81 at least in its somatic cells; a method of using this nonhuman animal as a model animal of osteoporosis comprising the step of measuring the extent of the inhibition of osteogenesis of the nonhuman animal; and a method of using this nonhuman animal as a model animal of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease comprising the step of measuring the extent of the presentation characteristics similar to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease of the nonhuman animal. |
