abstract Haloalkenone ethers can be produced by the attachment of carboxylic acid halides to a vinyl ether and by the expulsion of hydrogen halide. The invention improves said method by carrying out the process without a base and/or in the presence of a stabiliser for the alkenone. Higher yields of the product can thus be obtained.
