titleOfInvention | Method of detecting cancerous cell |
abstract | A method of detecting cancerous cells in which cancerous cells of a tissue specimen or cytopreparation can be detected with high precision while minimizing the occurrence of false negative or false positive. The method is characterized by comprising immersing a tissue specimen harvested from an internal organ, etc. or a cytopreparation collected from body fluid, etc. in a solution containing formamide so as to effect such a denaturation that injured DNAs lying the nuclei of cancerous cells of the tissue specimen or cytopreparation are selectively modified to single-stranded DNAs; subsequently carrying out such a linkage treatment that a labeled DNA of strand length capable of linkage with the single-stranded DNAs, which has a label becoming observable upon visualization such as coloring treatment, is linked to the single-stranded DNAs; and thereafter carrying out the visualization so that the presence of labeled DNAs lined to the single-stranded DNAs can be observed to enable detection of cancerous cells. |
