titleOfInvention Electronic personnel-control and -safety device
abstract The invention relates to an electronic personnel-control and -safety device which operates under risk conditions. The inventive device comprises data and voice repeaters which form a guide rope and which provide a sound and light reference in poor visibility. According to the invention, individual fire fighters are provided with a personalised apparatus which is worn on the arm and which communicates with the aforementioned repeaters in order to indicate the status of the wearer by means of a movement sensor. The personalised fire fighter apparatuses also transmit signals to the repeaters, which are received from the pressure gauges of each fire fighter using self-contained breathing equipment. The signals sent by the repeaters are transmitted to the central system which forwards same to a computer on which all of the information is displayed. Moreover, the central system also transmits signals to the fire fighters either directly or via the above-mentioned repeaters. The personalised apparatus comes into operation automatically upon detection of any movement.
