The invention relates to implantable medical devices comprising biocompatible coatings, in addition to a method for their production. The invention relates in particular to medical implantable devices that are coated with a layer containing carbon. Said devices are produced by the application of a polymer film to at least part of the device and by heating said polymer film in an atmosphere that is essentially devoid of oxygen, at temperatures ranging between 200 DEG C and 2500 DEG C, thus creating a layer containing carbon on the implantable medical device. |
