titleOfInvention | Process for producing l-glutamic acid |
abstract | In a process for producing L-glutamic acid via fermentation which comprises culturing, in a liquid medium at a specific pH value containing L-glutamic acid at the saturation concentration and a carbon source, a microorganism capable of metabolizing the carbon source and accumulating L-glutamic acid in the above-described liquid medium at the above-described pH value in an amount exceeding the saturation concentration of L-glutamic acid under such conditions that the medium has been adjusted to a pH level allowing the precipitation of L-glutamic acid to thereby form and accumulate L-glutamic acid in the state of precipitated from the medium, L-lysine is added to the medium and thus α-crystals of L-glutamic acid are precipitated in the case where the L-glutamic acid concentration in the medium is lower than the level allowing spontaneous crystallization. |
