The inventive composition is obtained by means of the instantaneous dissolution of pure iodine in the solid state in the essential oil of Melaleuca Alternifolia (tea tree) and/or Quinquenervia (Niaouli). Said composition is stable and can be used for the treatment of herpes labialis and/or herpes genitalis.
