titleOfInvention Phantom which is intended for the quality control of a virtual radiotherapy treatment simulation system
abstract The invention relates to a phantom which is intended for the quality control of a system used for the virtual simulation of a radiotherapy treatment, comprising a medical imaging device. The invention is characterised in that it comprises: a support case (1); a core (4) which is disposed inside the support case (1) and which consists of a plurality of elements (5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17) having different shapes, dimensions and densities, the latter simulating the densities of different organs and media of the human body, two of the aforementioned elements (11, 12) comprising two truncated cones, with different densities, fitted one inside the other, at least one of said two elements not being completely symmetric in relation to the longitudinal axis thereof; balls (9, 10, 13) which are made from a non-radiotransparent material and which are disposed inside the core (4); and at least two removable lateral faces (18, 21) which are disposed opposite one another and which house metal wires defining geometric figures.
