Material having deodorizing function and method for production thereof |
abstract |
A material having a deodorizing function, characterized in that it comprises a paper powder and, held therein, copper or zinc or a copper compound or a zinc compound; a method for producing a material having a deodorizing function which comprises mixing a paper powder with an aqueous solution of a compound of copper or zinc or a copper and a zinc compound, admixing the resultant mixture into an aqueous solution having an adjusted pH, to form a water-insoluble basic compound or a hydroxide and allow the paper powder to hold the formed water-insoluble basic compound or a hydroxide; and a particulate material for treating bodily wastes in which the above material having a deodorizing function is applied to the particulate core portion thereof and to the coating layer portion covering the particulate core portion. The material having a deodorizing function can be produced by the effective utilization of a waste material such as a paper power, at a low production cost. The bodily wastes treating material can deodorize the obnoxious odor of bodily wastes during and after use by the action of a copper or zinc compound having a deodorizing function. |
