abstract | A one-surface-side incidence type optical recording medium having a plurality of pigment-containing recording layers, where in a sufficient reflectance and good recording features, required for recording or reproducing information to/from a pigment-containing recording layer positioned far away from a light incident side, are obtained. An optical recording medium which comprises a first substrate (21) having a guide groove, a first pigment-containing recording layer (22), a semi-transparent reflection layer (23), an intermediate layer (24), a second pigment-containing recording layer (25), a reflection layer (26), and a second substrate (27) having a guide groove, which records or reproduces information to/from the first pigment-containing recording layer (22) and the second pigment-containing recording layer (25) by beaming a light from the first substrate (21) side, and which is constituted such that the guide groove depth of the second substrate (27) falls within a range, 1/100 x λ to 1/6 x λ, with a recording/reproducing wavelength being λ. |
