abstract |
A lubricant is disclosed which is obtained by esterifying a specific saturated aliphatic monocarboxylic acid (A), a specific linear aliphatic dibasic acid (B) and a specific aliphatic dihydric alcohol (C) while regulating the ratio of component (A) to component (B) at the beginning of reaction to satisfy (A):(B) = 98:2-40:60 (equivalence ratio). The lubricant contains at least one aliphatic dihydric alcohol composite ester having a total acid number of not more than 0.1 mgKOH/g, a hydroxyl number of not more than 50 mgKOH/g, a sulfuric acid ash content of not more than 30 ppm, an iodine number of not more than 1.0; or it contains at least one of such composite esters and a combination base oil. |
