abstract A honeycomb structure (1) has porous partition walls (2) arranged so as to form through-holes (3a, 3b) penetrating in the A-axis direction from one end to the other end of the structure. The structure has cordierite as the main component. When the value of porosity is P (%), the value of compressive strength in the A-axis direction, C (MPa), and the value of opening ratio, A (%), the structure satisfies the relationship of C≥(600e-0.0014AP)+0.5. Further, the structure has low pressure-loss, is unlikely to break, and has excellent collecting efficiency.
