titleOfInvention | Process for producing oxetane compound using polyalkyl ether |
abstract | It is intended to provide an industrially advantageous process for producing an oxetane compound whereby a 3-halo-1-propanol represented by the following general formula (1) can be cyclized by eliminating a hydrogen halide at a high yield and 3-chloro-1-propanol also represented by the general formula (1) can be cyclized by eliminating hydrogen chloride at a high yield without resort to a two-layer system comprising water and an organic solvent: (1) In the above formula (1), R1 and R2 may be different and each represents hydrogen or optionally substituted and optionally branched aliphatic C1-8 hydrocarbyl, or R1 and R2 may form together optionally branched aliphatic divalent C2-8 hydrocarbyl; and X represents chlorine, bromine or iodine. Namely, a process for producing an oxetane compound characterized in that, in a reaction of cyclizing a 3-halo-1-propanol represented by the general formula (1) by eliminating a hydrogen halide, a polyalkyl ether is used in the presence of an alkali. |
