abstract |
An electrophotographic toner comprising a cycloolefin copolymer resin as a binder resin, wherein the concentration of charge controlling agent at toner surface is in the range of 0.1 to less than 1.0 mg/g of toner; and a method comprising causing a nonmagnetic sleeve to carry the above toner and applying an electric field between a photoconductor and the sleeve so that the toner jumps onto a static latent image lying on the surface of the photoconductor to thereby effect image formation. Thus, there is provided an electrophotographic toner comprising a cycloolefin copolymer resin as a binder resin which even when used in the method of noncontact type development, can avoid image staining and can appropriately maintain the amount of charge to thereby avoid lowering of image density attributed to deterioration of jumping property. |
