abstract |
A method of monitoring asymptomatic nephropathy of a diabetic which allows early monitoring of diabetic nephropathy by using a pharmaceutical preparation containing a parathyroid hormone (PTH) as the active ingredient, which method comprises administering a given amount of PTH to a diabetic having an albumin excretion rate (AER) of 15 µg/min in urine, determining the N-acetyl-β-D-glucosaminidase (NAG) value in urine before and after the administration of PTH, and monitoring a patient having a ratio of the NAG value after the administration to the one before the administration of 2.3 or less. |
