A method of screening a cell growth inhibitor characterized by comprising measuring the effect of inhibiting intracellular signal transduction mediated by a residual fragment of a cell membrane-anchored growth factor, and a cell growth inhibitor. In a growth factor belonging to the EGF family, the physiological meaning of its residual fragment is clarified and a method of regulating its function is searched for, thereby providing a novel drug. |
