titleOfInvention Ionene oligomers and polymers
abstract Polymerized ionene compounds are known to be effective antimicrobial substances. It has recently been appreciated that the molecular weight can affect the safety and efficacy of ionene compounds. In particular, it has been found that low molecular weight ionene oligomers (less than 50 repeat units) are less toxic than larger polymers with identical compositions. The invention discloses a plurality of ionene oligomers.
